A CLOCK DOES NOT MEASURE TIME, ONLY IT MEASURES ITSELF

2013

This is an ongoing project started in 2009. It views the clock as an object whilst experimenting with the idea of time alteration. The origin of the project was a dialogue from, “Man from Earth”  which contains the following idea: “The clock does not measure time, no, they only measure themselves, and the objective referral of a clock is always another clock”.

Using this idea as well as the association with other texts concerning the time paradox, the project develops a series of exercises that subvert the concept of time. Interventions within the device and its mechanism allow time to be subverted.
